Answer by MrToadio for Remove components from standard installation of KDE Plasma on Debian 10

sudo apt -y install kde-plasma-desktop plasma-nm 

This will install a minimal installation about a gig smaller than the default KDE.

I "accidently" removed KDE and the above got me going again.
